The Physical Education staff at Elizabeth High School (EHS) – Frank J. Cicarell Academy (FJCA) recently organized its Third Annual Relay for Life 5k Run/Walk event. The American Cancer Society’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families affected by cancer through advocacy, research, and patient support, ensuring access to prevention, detection, treatment, and survival resources. FJCA’s goal for this 5k event was to contribute towards finding a cure for cancer, one lap at a time.

Cancer has touched numerous lives directly or indirectly, and we are grateful for the opportunity to combat this devastating disease. Thanks to the collective efforts of everyone involved, we successfully raised over $2,000 for the American Cancer Society. This significant achievement would not have been possible without the exceptional support and dedication of our students, who united the community and ran for a noble cause. We are excited to continue hosting this event annually and with your continued support, we can make a lasting impact together.

• Funds were used to buy park permits, race bibs, signs, snacks, water, and park decorations.

• Empowered students to create meaningful impact and contribute to positive change.
